File extension ptx information

Files with extension PTXC are Raster Image files associated with the application Pentax Raw Image File developed by Pentax Corporation. A Pentax camera is used for capturing raw image files that are uncompressed and saving image data precisely as it was recorded using the sensor of the camera. Viewing of these files is also capable through the use of Pentax software which is inclusive of the camera. The data contained in raw image files is usually minimally processed and hence not ready for use with a graphics editor or for printing.
A raw image file may be referred to as a digital negative because of fulfilling a similar role as film negatives in chemical photography even in tradition times. Generally, the negative is not used as an image directly, but the information it contains is used for the creation of the image. Similar to photographic negatives, raw digital images have wide color gamut or dynamic range in comparison to the format of the final image. The process of color grading and white balancing involves selecting the final option of image submission.
